Is a graphic designer artisan or profession liberale?

I’m trying to set-up as an auto-entrepreneur. In our previous discussion it seemed like the right choice for me would be:

  • Domaine d’activité: Informatique, multimedia, dessin, photographe
  • Choissisez votre activité: Pre-Presse, Graphiste PAO

You didn’t think Pre-Presse was the right category, but you did think Graphiste PAO describes what I do. These two are lumped together. This choice makes me an Artisan.

However, in another graphic design thread on this site (How do I register online as a graphic designer) I see that this person selected Domaine d’activité: Je ne connais pas mon domaine d’activités, Choissisez votre activité: Graphiste Multimedia et Diffusion par des Procedes et des Techniques Autres Que Relevant de L’artisanat.

As a graphic designer, would this be an option for me? It looks like it would avoid the Artisan route and be a Profession Liberale instead. If so, which would I select here?

From what I can tell, as an auto-entrepreneur I will switch from securite social to RSI. Will I be able to stay with my husband’s Mutuelle which I’m on now?
