URSSAF is currently regrouping its offices into regional branches to provide better and localised customer services. From 1st January 2013, the twelve new regional URSSAF branches are:

  • Urssaf Alsace
  • Urssaf Aquitaine
  • Urssaf Basse-Normandie
  • Urssaf Bretagne
  • Urssaf Champagne-Ardenne
  • Urssaf Ile-de-France
  • Urssaf Languedoc-Roussillon
  • Urssaf Limousin
  • Urssaf Lorraine
  • Urssaf Nord-Pas-de-Calais
  • Urssaf Picardie
  • Urssaf Poitou-Charentes

You will now be able to go and meet up with an advisor to discuss your situation. Any advisor from your region should now be able to access your account and answer your queries on the phone. This was previously only possible within your own department (not region). The URSSAF helpline phone number is 3957 (0,118 € TTC/min).

How this will affect your French business

If you haven’t already, you will receive a letter or email confirming your URSSAF’s new SIRET Number. For instance my URSSAF office was in La Manche and now has a regional branch office, Basse Normandie, that has a new SIRET 75356054900010. It is important to understand that your own SIRET number is unchanged and that you're only getting a new URSSAF account number.

This also means that you will have a new URSSAF account number from 1st January 2013 for your business. This account number starting with 252, will be confirmed to you by email or letter.

When to use your new URSSAF account number

Typical examples are:

  • Your payroll if you have some employees
  • Any letter you write to URSSAF
  • Your bank transfers to URSSAF
