Working periodically
Dear Valerie
My husband is retired and I am still working. We are planning to move to France within the next year. We have sufficient funds to both apply for retirement visas. We have a significant age difference between us and I am juggling wanting to spend as much time as I can with him and also not wanting to completely give up work. I have several business ideas but don’t want to necessarily commit to any of them full-time. Essentially, I would like the option to work but not the obligation to earn the equivalent of the minimum wage. Is it possible to secure a visa that would allow me to undertake work periodically while also showing the necessary funds to live from savings rather than income alone? One of the options we are considering is a gite. We would not operate it continually.
