Where do I get a tax number for French business bank account?

My bank in France has requested me to submit my tax id before I can use my bank account.

They said I get this from my local tax office. Is this different from the SIRET number or other numbers I get with auto-entrepreneur registration?
Do I have to do the auto-entrepreneur registration first, or does it not matter?
How long does it take to get my tax id?
