What qualifies as scientific or artistic output?

I would like to start doing work editing English in scientific documents. I think this should qualify, as I am not actually producing the science, just correcting English. However, it does state in the guide that scientific or artistic output is exempt from the program. I have my first contract pending, with a government agency, but I can not accept unless I have a way to invoice. Has anyone else done this kind of work under the auto-entrepreneur system?
