What is the best way to set up as a freelancer business in Paris?

I moved to Paris in October 2015. I’m currently seeking a senior level role in public relations and marketing communications and have been approached by a public relations company to do some freelance work for them. This is a great way to get my foot in the door, but I’m wondering how to legally set myself up as a freelancer business in France. From what I’ve read, there are quite a few options and it would be great if you could outline the pros and cons of each (portage salarial, micro-entrepreneur etc.) and then provide counsel on what you would recommend.
