What is the best way for an auto-entrepreneur to register a gite rurale?

Both my husband and I are auto-entrepreneur’s. My main income is from book sales, and his is from internet sales of mainly pc related items. However, we are also about to register our gite as a holiday rental, and want to know the best way of doing this and what social charges we will pay.

As his is the lesser income, we were thinking of only registering this in his name. I read an article fairly recently that said if you declared your gite a Gite Rurale and offered 3 out of 4 services, which were 1) meet and greet, 2) linen provided, 3) cleaning service 4) breakfast then there is a massive amount of allowance given (74% ish) before you have to pay tax.

As we offer the first 3, would we be eligible for this and how do we go about registering this as a gite rurale? If we aren’t eligible as a Gite Rurale for some reason, what social charges would we pay on a gite business, in respect of the holiday letting income? Is it the same as a vente, i.e. 12% of turnover?
