What do my auto-entrepreneur cotisations cover?

Could you please advise what my auto-entrepreneur cotisations covers, please, does it cover retirement pension? Also, regarding pensions, I have received paperwork from a couple of companies and they mention retraite complementaire and from what I can gather they say I should be registering for pension purposes. One of the companies is Groupe Mornay. I am just one self-employed person, with no employees and I don’t intend having any employees in the future.
