Using Wise for my business account and N26 for my personal account- should I change?
I’m on the Professional Liberale visa and new to France (as of August 2025). I want the fewest issues when it comes to running my micro-enterprise and renewing my visa for the first time next year.
I currently have a N26 account for personal banking, which I like, and opened a Wise business account as my business account, as my first clients are from the US and UK, and I anticipate I will always have clients from outside France (as well as inside eventually), and all 3 groups can easily pay me. It also allows me to separate out money, so I can split out my social & tax charges from each client payment and hold them apart until needed. I am not eligible for VAT so the Wise Belgian IBAN is not currently an issue, as you said that system only takes France IBANs. Both N26 and Wise also offer statements in both French and English I believe.
However, Valerie I just saw that you recommend a brick & mortar personal bank account, and you mention Wise for payments, but not for business banking. Is my account set-up ok? If not, what should I change? I hate the idea of paying a monthly fee for a bank account, but I’ll do it if it’ll make my visa renewal (or business administration) easier.
