Using auto-entrepreneur to invoice for services in the UK?

I am currently a 50% shareholder in a UK company, each shareholder takes a small salary and some dividends. Since moving to France I have been classed as a representative of a foreign company. I have been paying cotisations on the minimum wage that I am paid. As my UK based business partner has very little personal tax and National Insurance to pay, she is not willing for the company to stand the cost of the French Cotisations, and so I am having to pay those myself, effectively leaving me with very little out of my wage. It would seem much more tax efficient therefore for me to invoice the UK company through a French auto-entrepreneur. The effect would be roughly tax neutral as the Corporation Tax saving in the UK would be about the same as the Cotisations paid in France. Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of?  Could I remain a shareholder in the UK company?
