US Citizen Micro Entrepreneurs subject to US Self Employment Tax

Hi All,

I have come to learn that being a US national self-employed abroad makes you subject to US self employment tax, which stands at 15.3% and my understanding you are taxable after earning your first $400. It seems pretty clear from what I’ve read that being registered as a Micro Entrepreneur qualifies for this tax but I wanted to check if there are any other Americans in France in this forum who have looked into this and have a definitive answer?

Thanks,

Henry
