UK Citizens preparing for No Deal Brexit

My wife and I are UK citizens in our 50’s looking to move to France to run our own small Gite business and, as my wife is a professional Yoga teacher, to offer lessons. We’ve delayed for three years while waiting for a Brexit outcome but we now expect to find ourselves as Third Country Nationals if there is a No Deal Brexit.
Should this be the case, we are preparing to apply for Long Term Visa status (VLS-TS) from the French Embassy in the UK. Based on your blog we think the Visa Commercant option is the one for us an ‘auto-entrepreneur’. Can you confirm that this is the best first step for us based on our situation?
