I am able to keep a certain UK bank account open, and change my address to France. However, they are asking for a tax ID number. As I understand it, you only get assigned this in France when you make your first tax declaration. As I only arrived this year, I have never done this in France and will only be making this declaration after May 2026.

Am I correct? Or do self-employed individuals use their SIREN or some other number as a tax identifier?
