Should I change to auto-entrepreneur?
I came over in Jan 2007 and I still work part time for 2 companies in UK. I set up as a micro entreprise (was self-employed in UK), I am paid in UK in sterling, and I submitted everything to French system. I expect to pay some taxes etc. here. However this year, I have been hit extremely hard by RSI. They keep sending me new bills and this year I have paid them over 10,000 euros. I’ve paid nothing to them till this year and my turnover for 07,08+ 09 is about 30,000 euros total. My accountant says that auto-entrepreneur charges would be the same. I can’t believe these charges.
Can somebody please help me. I’m frightened to go to the post box. I have visited RSI in Niort many times but I get nowhere. They tell me not to pay then I get a threatening letter, so I go back and they say I must pay. Today I have received another bill for 352 euros for penalties for late payment, yet often, I don’t receive the bils till after the date they want the money. I cannot cope with these constant bills. One of the reasons I am working is to keep us both in the health system. Should I change to auto-entrepreneur, what can I do about RSI?
