Representative office - tax for legal representative/employee?

We are thinking of setting up a representative office for our UK company, when I move to France in August, to check out opportunities and network at Sophia Antipolis. I would be the legal representative and sole employee in France. How would I be taxed?

I understand that the company would not be taxed or be registered for VAT in France as it is not earning revenue in France.
