Rejected auto-entrepreneur declaration to make jewellery?

I posted some questions on here back in December, as I was registering an auto-entrepreneur business in France as I make silver jewellery and also wish to sell it. I completed the form online on 16 December, and as I had heard nothing back I emailed and called my local URSSAF in January. They sent me an email which said that my application was a special case and would be in touch in 15 days. That passed so I called URSSAF. They said that nothing had been processed and to email again - again the email saying to wait 15 days. As you suggested I put my activity as Creation and vente de bijoux.

Today I received a call from the Chambre de Commerce, who had received my rejected auto-entrepreneur form from URSSAF. They said that I need to register with Chambre de Metiers. I called URSSAF, and luckily got someone at 5.40pm! They said that as I sold the jewellery I would have to register with the Chambre de Commerce under the auto-entrepreneur scheme. When I said that I make and sell only the jewellery I make, they said that I may have to register with Chambre de Metiers as well, I thought that I couldn’t register as auto-entrepreneur with the Chambre de Metiers/Chambre de Commerce. The reason for registering as auto-entrepreneur was that I wouldn’t have to pay the considerable charges, before I knew whether I could actually sell what I make.
