Registering for auto-entrepreneur more than 30 days after starting trading?

We started our chambres d’hotes in France in April this year, but very slowly with only a few guests until June when it started to pick up. After some confusion I have finally established that auto-entrepreneur business will be right for us and I have started the registration process, however the online form says that we can only register online for businesses that started 30 days or less before. What do I do - should I take 5 July as our start date and go from there, or would that be inadvisable?
