Registering as a micro-entreprenuer

My partner is setting up a paint and tools distribution business which he will run from home and would like to register as a micro-entrepreneur. What category of micro-entrepreneur should he register under?

I am already registered as a micro-entrepreneur to run our gite business - does this have any impact on his application or is it treated entirely separately?
