I have just left my contrat à durée indéterminée (CDI) job and have begun the process of starting an société par actions simplifiée (SAS) business in France.

  1. I was advised that I should register as an independent artist. Is this auto-entrepreneur to minimise unnecessary tax expenses? I left the company with a rupture de contract and also need to set-up chaumage.
  2. Is there any support for creating a start-up in Paris? I plan to offer my services as a photographer and artistic director (consultancy) and set-up a retail business too.
  3. Is it possible to have all this paid into the SAS business and draw a small salary, paid from my business to me as auto-entrepreneur? I will need help and wish to pay individuals.
  4. What is the best practice for employing people?
  5. Can I pay people if they don’t have a social security number?
  6. What other requirements does an employee have to provide for me to operate legally?
