Register additional business under different regime.

When I moved to France 3 years ago, I set up as a Micro-entrepreneur, Profession libérale, Activités spécialisées de design (web designer). I now have an additional business which falls under a different regime and I would like assistance in registering it correctly please. I believe that this second income will become the greater of the two.

I have purchased a property privately with my husband (in both names) and now let out three rooms and two studio spaces to creative practitioners (artists, writers, musicians etc.). They live in the same house as my husband and I and use the space on a self-catering basis (i.e. no food is provided) for between 1 - 4 weeks at a time. I ask them to sign a contract ahead of their stay. The contract simply states what we offer to them for their fee but also includes an application form from them outlining their project, length of stay, next of kin, etc.

Therefore, what I offer is neither Gite nor Chamber d’hôte. I was advised by an Accountant friend to register the business with the Mairie as ‘Des Meublés De Tourisme’ and have taken a form to them, but have received no correspondence since. This is the form I took: https://www.formulaires.modernisation.gouv.fr/gf/cerfa_14004.do

I would like to pay monthly going forward but have a little backlog to catch up on also.

On that note, I have had to buy a lot of things to get up and running (in particular installing a bathroom and furnishing the bedrooms), is there any way of getting a reduction at the start of this business to assist with this kind of thing? I am in 47, which I believe is a ‘Zone de revitalisation rurale (ZRR)’.

I’m hoping that the tax on this business is much lower than on my web design business and therefore want to ensure that I register it correctly!

Many thanks!
