Refused a trademark application

I’m not sure you can help with this. We have been refused a trademark application because we used the phrase “DE PROVENCE” in our perfume: CÉLESTE DE PROVENCE” . We do actually make the product in Provence!
We can’t afford an expensive lawyer, but are afraid we may be sued if we use it. Any ideas, or a referral to a kind lawyer?
