Qonto | Online banks | TVA-liable auto-entrepreneur

Hi Valerie (and SBiF members who might have experience/opinions),

I need to open a new dedicated account for my auto-entrepreneur business and I would like it to be an online bank. I receive funds from clients in France, the US, the EU and the UK.

I’ve read all the SBiF forum and blog posts related to fintech platforms and online bank accounts but most are from 2019. I have also checked current information on the N26, Revolut, (Transfer)Wise and Qonto websites and plenty of reviews.

Here are my questions:

1) Since I am a TVA-liable auto-entrepreneur, I believe it must be a real bank account (with a French IBAN), which would rule out N26, Revolut and (Transfer)Wise, and leave me with Qonto. Is that correct?

3) Are there other (better) options than Qonto? If so, what do you like/not like about them vs. Qonto?

2) Does impots.gouv have any problem with Qonto or is it considered a perfectly legitimate bank for a TVA-liable auto-entrepreneur?

4) Anything else I should be aware of when making this decision?

Thanks very much!

Sonja
