Not sure whether I qualify for auto-entrepreneur or Maison des Artistes?
I am a glass artist and I moved to France a year ago. I have been setting up an atelier and have just started working so need to register my business and finally get some health cover etc. My work here will be one-off art glass pieces, as well as commissions. I have seen that artists can’t be auto-entrepreneurs but I have also seen you mention that you can only become a member of the Maison des Artistes after a year of working and with a turnover of more than 7,000 euros.
I have young children and will work part time, and I need to establish myself with galleries over here which will take some time, so I’m not sure when I’ll reach that sort of annual turnover. I’ve tried researching online but am completely lost as to what I am considered to be in France. My husband is still employed in the UK, so things are complicated for us. I’d be very grateful for some advice on this because I’m so confused.
