moving UK LTD business to France, combining with current auto-entrepreneur

I have two separate businesses - my UK LTD business does in-person photo shoots, and my French micro-entrepreneur does retouching for other photographers’ work. I am going to be closing my UK business and moving everything into the French system.

I have questions:)

- I use XERO software for my accounting currently. I like it, but someone told me it is not very compatible with the French system. Is this true, and can you suggest what to use instead?

- Both business activities will continue, I just want them both to be French to cut down on the accounting work and complications. I think I will run everything under the micro-entrepreneur scheme as long as I can. However, charging VAT is very damaging for my business, so I need to avoid this as long as possible.

1) can I do both activities under the same micro-entrepreneurship? If so, how does VAT work with this? Is the VAT threshold calculated on the overall combined total of both activities, or is each activity treated separately for that?

2) Can I separate the activities and have one micro-entrepreneurship in my name, and another separate one in my husband’s name? For example, I do all the photography and he does all the retouching? Would one way or the other be beneficial for taxes/fees or other reasons?

3) How much do I need to set aside each month for taxes, fees, contributions, etc. and also, how do I ensure I don’t get a surprise bill at the end of the year? My UK accountants are great about keeping me up to date on everything and advising the best strategies, but my current French accountant seems like even answering an email is a bit too much to ask, so do I just need a better accountant? I know with a micro-entrepreneurship you are supposed to be able to do it mostly on your own, but I need advice getting started.

Thanks!
