LMNP vs ‘professional’ rentals

I currently have three properties which I declare as LMNP and benefit from the 71% abattement (so I only pay social charges on 29% of gross revenue).
Would you be able to explain the pros and cons of declaring on this basis, and the pros and cons if I switched to registering the properties as a professional concern? I own the properties with my husband and they are rented out to holidaymakers.
I would like to think that I purchase more property in the next two years to gradually increase the number of properties owned (with mortgages).
