Letters of Intent from non customers

Hello Valérie,
I’m putting together my business plan for the Profession Libérale visa application and starting a new freelance business from scratch—no potential customers yet.

I’m part of a wonderful online community for people moving to France, and some of the forum moderators have generously offered to write Letters of Intent to support my business plan. I’d love to share the template from your “My French Business Visa” course with them.

Here’s where I’m a bit stuck: these moderators probably won’t become actual customers since my business services aren’t quite the right fit for them. I noticed in your template that you mention other types of support (like mentoring, networking, or making introductions), but I’m not sure what makes sense to include in their letters.

question 1: The moderators do organize regular in-person networking events in France. Would that count as meaningful support for my freelance business in the Letter of Intent? Or is it too indirect?

question 2: I’m also wondering—will these letters carry less weight with the French Embassy since they’re not from potential customers? I imagine they’re primarily looking for evidence of actual business prospects, right?

Thanks so much for your guidance!
