Just how do you get a social security number and a SIRET number

I have started applying as a micro entrepreneur on the guichet-entreprises site, but need a social security number tp go any further. I have gone on to URRSAF and registered on there to get one - I am just concerned things won’t be sorted before the end of December.
Can someone tell me I have done the right things and applied at the right places please.
