Is it usual that RSI asks for birth certificates translated?

We recently set-up as auto entrepreneurs and we got a letter from RSI telling us we need an original copy of our birth certificates, showing our mother and fathers names and then get it translated. Is this usual? Also, we are both adopted and our fathers’ names not on our birth certificates, my partner also had a completely different name at birth. Do you think this might be a problem?
