Is it OK to trade through a UK based company but live and work in France?

I’ve been asked by an old colleague, based in the UK, to form a new online business with him. Most of the income generated would be through the UK. I am currently an auto-entrepreneur in France. He has proposed setting up as a UK-registered company with us both directors. I would be doing the bulk of my work for the company from France and would envisage either having to raise invoices through the company for payment or draw a dividend to compensate me for my work on the project. Is this possible/acceptable under French taxation law? If so, would this need to go through my auto-entrepreneur or could I declare it separately on the annual French tax household declaration. I am already quite close to the €32k limit.
