Is it legal for a French resident to own a UK limited company?

Can I have a UK limited company, in which I make the decisions while resident in France, then use auto-entrepreneur status to invoice it? I know an auto-entrepreneur must invoice more than one company, and also that I must declare in my annual French tax return any dividends / salary from my UK company and my shareholding in it. Is it legal for a French resident, to own and run a UK company? If yes, is it OK to just detail it in the French tax return, or must I tell someone else too?
