I’m not sure what we are waiting for…

We have just been told that our resident visa in our passport was validated once we paid the fee and completed the online form - so we are now resident for a year which should mean that we can now set up our business - so I am confused: what is the purpose of the appointment that we are waiting to be invited for if the resident visa in our passports is valid for setting up a business?
