How much power does the liquidator of a SARL have?

My partner and I have agreed to close our SARL, in contentious circumstances. We owned shares equally and we are both going on to start other businesses as individuals. However, I have been asked by accountants to sign documents (arranged by my former partner) to appoint him as sole liquidator of the company. While it is easier for him to have this role as he works in French and I do not, I have read the English translation of this and remain unclear on these points:

  1. How much power would this give him regarding the few assets it owns (only office equipment)?
  2. Some months ago when we decided to stop the business he gave me a signed resignation as a director of the SARL. Is this still valid? He says is was not processed and therefore invalid. If so can he still have the post of liquidator?
  3. Going forward does he have any claim on any business I might have which could have originated while the SARL was in operation?
