How long can I remain under the auto-entrepreneur system?

I would like to know how long I can remain as a auto-entrepreneur. Is it as long as I remain below the total annual amount of revenue of 32,600 Euro for 2012 and 33,600 Euro for 2013? I ask, as I read on another website that a person can only be a auto-entrepreneur for a period of three years, is this correct?
