How do we set up an alpaca farm business in France?

We are Dita and Willem Alblas, dutch. We have Dutch passports. We live in New Zealand and have an alpaca farm. We just sold our property here and are planning to come to live in the south of France. Most likely end of September or October. We will probably rent first and buy from there a farm with a minimum of 6 ha of land. We plan to have an alpaca farm business again (turnover +/- 80,000 euros), an alpaca shop and a gite in France. We will bring over our top 30 best black alpacas. They will arrive beginning December.

  1. What kind of business structure in France should we choose?
  2. Only one business or a different one for the gite?
  3. Can we start a business in France from New Zealand?

We need to have the business up and running before the alpacas arrive, because we also need a TVA number before they arrive so we can get the TVA back. We also need a bank account number to transfer the money into.

I’m sure that there a lots of other things to arrange, like healthcare/insurance. Could you, please, give us as much info as possible on what to arrange and how. Is it easy to rent something with about 3 ha of grazing? Probably not your thing, but you might be able to show us the right direction.
