How do I terminate my employment to a business in France?

To reduce the high cotisation charges of a Conjoint Collaborateur on a Business in France, we changed business regime to a Reel Simplife - Cotisant Solidaire and my husband has employed me for the last four years. I now want to terminate my employment with him, to register independently as an auto-entrepreneur. How do I do this, without incurring costs?
Do I end my employment with him and write him a resignation letter or does he make me redundant and he ends my employment because the business can not afford to continue employing me. I have an accountant, who I will inform as soon as I know which one of us is responsible for terminating my employment.
