How do I register my work interests in France?

I am retired and have my main address in England but I also have a holiday home in France. My intentions are to spend six months a year in France and I have been asked by several neighbours if I can do work for them. In England this would be called a Handyman and I need to know what I should do to register this or a similar position in France.

I only intend to work one or two days a week. I am unsure as to what to do next and what is best for me. I believe the process of registering can be completed online but some assistance may be needed can you please advise.
