How do I register as a photographer?

I am a keen young photographer and would like to set up under the auto-entrepreneur system, but I have some questions. Are there any set up fees? As a photographer what would I be regarded as, for example an artisan? I am currently listed under my families French health cover, so would this be acceptable; I also only have an English social security number at present? As business will be slow to build as a photographer I would appreciate advice in entering this new system to benefit both sides.
