How do I register a business as a handyman in France?

I need to set up an auto-entrepreneur business in France for my husband. He will be working as a handyman doing things like helping a neighbour with building a kitchen, a bit of gardening and putting insulation in lofts, bits of maintenance in gites for people etc., so nothing major or specific. The work will not be regular, but now and again and could vary. How do I register as a handyman in France?
