How do I record business income paid in pounds into my UK account?

I have an auto-entrepreneur business here in France and I have questions about bookkeeping:

Can my UK clients pay me in pounds, directly into my UK business bank account?
If yes, how do I record this transaction? Do just have to record the value of the transaction on the day the payment was made into my UK account, according to the market rate?
Do I have to transfer the money into my French auto-entrepreneur account, if so, when must it be done by? If not, am I free to spend my UK earnings in the UK, just recording what they were worth in euros on the day I received the money from my client?
