How do I close my auto-entrepreneur business?

I set up an auto-entrepreneur business in 2009. Since then I have not done any business and now wish to close it. I filled in the relevant form on www.lautoentrepreneur.fr for declaration of cessation and then sent a copy of my passport and a copy of the signed form by recorded delivery to CFE 35 Rue de la Haye, Montpellier, however my business has not been closed. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or what I need to do to ensure that the auto-entrepreneur is closed?
