How do I change from from Real Simplifie to auto-entrepreneur?

I started a business on 1 January 2011 in France in the form of a real simplifie. It has proven to be a big mistake as things have started very slowly. The cotisations vastly exceed my turnover, so I have made a significant loss. It appears clear that it would have been more suitable to register as an auto-entrepreneur in the early years, even though it is a buying and selling business. How do I go about the process of changing?
