Gîte registration change

I have been running my 3 Gîtes as a non-professional since 2007, it is my main income and always has been. I am now adding another property to the complex and will therefore be over the 23K.
Can you confirm what I need to do change the registration to professional? What would be the best thing to do? I have tried to read up about it and am now feeling like I am actually going to be worse off because the allowances as non-professional are so good.
Could really do with some advice. Thanks in advance.
