We have had a gite business set up as a micro entreprise for 5 years, and our health care was with Assurance Maladie under the CMU de Base, as our joint revenue is only around 22,000 Euros. Assurance Maladie have just refused to renew our CMU de Base Cover and advised that we now have to register the gite under the regime social des independants - giving us just over 2 weeks notice to do so. I understand that this means we will have to pay cotistations and other taxes which will make the gite business not viable. Can they give us just 2 weeks notice? Can we challenge this? or is it sensible to register as an independant worker?
