Gap between UK EHIC and French cover - what to do?

I moved to France in October 2018 from the UK. My (UK) EHIC expires at the end of February 2019. I have registered as an auto entrepreneur at the end of January 2019 because I am undertaking a small amount of paid work. I do not yet have a French numéro de sécurité sociale. In the period between waiting for this and the expiration of my EHIC, what is my status regarding state healthcover?
