Evidence of trade?

I may have a problem related to my required trade status for the chambre de métiers I was self employed as a potter over 15 years ago and no longer have copies of my accounts. I was then employed to manage a pottery works for 5 years, but that was over 10 years ago and I don’t have my pay slips. I have a college diploma from my graduation of the ceramics course dated 1977 I may be able to get a letter from my employer at the pottery I managed. What do you think?
