Does homme de toutes mains require qualifications and 5 day course?

  1. My partner tried to register as a handyman / odd job man, i.e. no electrical work, plumbing, painting etc. Just very low level things. We described it as homme de toutes mains on the application. As a result, they told us that he would need to attend a 5 day stage de preparation a l’installation course as well as provide various evidence of experience or qualifications. We were under the impression that this odd job man type of service was not regulated.
  2. He also wished to add a second activity as garden maintenance. Would this be entretien de jardins et d’espaces verts and would this also be non regulated, i.e. no requirement to attend courses or have experience. The type of activity would include raking leaves, mowing lawns, trimming hedges. No landscaping or hard core ground works like building walls or designing anything.
