Do we need an address in France to register as an auto-entrepreneur?

We are a female couple with a Civil Partnership, currently UK resident. We are both professional house/pet sitters and have clients in both the UK and France. Currently, we are guardians of a property in France where we have been living recently. We look after the main house and 3 other smaller gites. We plan to spend more of our time in France (more than 6 months of the year) and hope to register under the auto-entrepreneur scheme - as individuals and as professional sitters/guardians.

Our current assignment and the owners would be one of our clients. Our question is; will we be able to use the address where we are currently based when registering for the auto-entrepreneur?

We do not own or rent this property as it is part of the requirement of the job to live here for security purposes etc. and we do not own or rent any other property in France. If we are able to use this address for registration purposes, will the accommodation be treated as a benefit in kind?
