Do we have to submit individual tax returns?

My wife and I will be setting up in business. Myself as an auto-entrepreneur and artiste libre and my wife as an auto-entrepreneur. Do we have to submit returns individually for each individual business monthly (pay as you go) and also do an end of year return? We will only own a house in France and have one small teachers government pension taxed in UK.
