Do we declare an auto-entrepreneur conjoint collaborateur?

I read that if we are not married or do not have a pacte civil de solidarité (Pacs) that we do not declare as conjoint collaborateur on the auto-entrepreneur form. Is this the case please? We have our own pensions and healthcare.
