Do I need to open a business in France?

I run a number of ecommerce sites in Ireland a we want to move to France. We currently also run a French website that doesn’t do much business, but we would like to develop this once we move to France. Do I need to set up a French company to run the French website, or can I simply continue to run it via the Irish company? Is this even desirable? What are the implications? This is our current situation: Operating Irish websites and French website as Irish sole trader, living in Ireland. We want to be in the following situation: Operating Irish websites and French websites living in France. What business structure would you propose for us (we’re a married couple and my wife is French)?
